STANCHESTER QUIRE MEET IN DORSET

After 25 years of being based in Somerset,  Stanchester Quire - the "community choir, with a difference" - have moved over the border into Dorset and reformulated our practice sessions.

Dates are given on this page.  Doors open from 10.30am for registration, tea/coffee, and then at 11.00am we will be starting to learn old Christmas Carols that have been collected from the South West of England, some very local.

The ability to read music is not essential, as we learn everything by ear under the direction of our Musical Director, Eddie Upton, holder of the English Folk Dance and Song Society's gold badge for services to folk music.

There will be comfort breaks throughout the day and we aim to finish at approximately 2.00pm.  Please bring a packed lunch.  Hot drinks will be provided free of charge, and there will be a chance to socialise.

There will be four Saturday sessions to follow, together with three Monday evening revision meetings, all with a view to performing at one of our successful Christmas Carol concerts in December, though this is not compulsory.

The fees for the Saturday sessions are £10 each session and the £3 for each revision meeting.

All new members are extremely welcome and the first session will be free for new members.

Remember: SINGING IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL!
