STANCHESTER QUIRE MEET IN DORSET

After 25 years of being based in Somerset,  Stanchester Quire - the "community choir, with a difference" - have moved over the border into Dorset and reformulated our practice sessions.

Dates are given on this page.  Doors open from 10am for registration, tea/coffee, and then we will be starting to learn old songs andChristmas Carols that have been collected from the South West of England, some very local.

The ability to read music is not essential, as we learn everything by ear under the direction of our Musical Director, Eddie Upton, holder of the English Folk Dance and Song Society's gold badge for services to folk music.

There will be comfort breaks throughout the day and we aim to finish at approximately 1pm.  Hot drinks will be provided free of charge, and there will be a chance to socialise.

There will be further Saturday sessions to follow, with a view to performing at one of our successful concerts, though this is not compulsory.

The fees for the Saturday sessions are £10 each session.

All new members are extremely welcome and the first session will be free for new members.

Remember: SINGING IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL!
